Why erection sequence belongs in the design stage

Fabrication drawings that ignore how the frame will actually go up create avoidable delays on site. Sequence is a design input.

Steel is fabricated in the workshop but assembled on site, often with limited crane access and shared working space. Planning the lift and bolt-up sequence during detailing keeps site works moving.

Temporary stability, splice positions and bolt access are decided at drawing stage. Members are marked to that sequence so the right piece is available at the right time.

The result is fewer site modifications, which protects both the programme and the coating system applied in the workshop.
