What to specify when ordering street-light poles

Pole height, bracket arm, base plate and bolt pattern all need to be agreed before fabrication. A short checklist for estates and facility teams.

Street-light fabrication is coordination work as much as metalwork. The pole must suit the mounting height and luminaire, the bracket arm must match the required outreach, and the base plate must match the foundation bolt cage that has already been cast.

Access points for cabling and the control enclosure position are agreed with the electrical contractor before the poles are fabricated.

Corrosion protection is specified for the environment — coastal and industrial locations demand more than an inland estate road.
